from August through December, i made about 1800 extra from a side job where they don't take out taxes (but you can deduct about 500 of that because i had business expenses).

when i think about the fact that i ate & drank most of that money away, i want to kick myself. i really need to stop going to the f'ing bar. or when i go, pregame like crazy and just have ONE or TWO drinks there... not 6. if i was going to waste money, i wish i had at least wasted it on clothes instead of a substance that leaves my body within 24 hours. i actually need clothes.

i got a new bill yesterday for the MRI on my foot for 500. plus i'm moving this weekend. and i havent' had any side work in over 6 weeks because it's the slow season. un-yay. i'm hoping this new place will be somewhere i can stay for years so i dont' have to deal with the hassle of moving for a while.

once i get settled, i'm going to re-evaluate my bills. i need to figure out how i'm going to live on student loans and make a tighter budget.

question.. your 150k in loans, is that ALL from law school? i have recently started to think about law schools in other parts of IL besides chicago just so i could get in-state tuition instead of paying 30k a year. only paying 10 would be sure as hell nice!

Yup, my entire $150,000 was spent entirely on law school. Apparently, if it's not a "state" school, that's the average you'll walk out with.

If you are seriously wanting to go, I would look into scholarships. There are actually some schools that offer them. I also know there are schools out there who have loan forgiveness programs if a student promises (and actually does) public interest. I don't know if you'd consider going part time so that you can still work? A lot of people do it. It's hard, but it can be done.

Only paying 10 a year would be fantastic. Try as hard as possible to AVOID getting a private loan (LAW Plus loans). If you do have to take out make sure they are all PHEAA and backed by the government so you'll end up with a lower interest rate after you consolidate.

BUT...an even BETTER idea? Marry Tony and have him support you!!!!

*sigh*

that's what i thought. :(

"BETTER idea" -- ew. no way. he has cooties :) besides, not only would i not consider being supported by a man, 1) he doesn't make enough to support us, 2) i said i'd never live with another guy before marriage, and 3) i think we're both marriage-phobic, which is JUST FINE BY ME! :)

Loans it is.. hey, other people do it. and yes, it's definitely public interest for me, soooo.. here's to loan forgiveness!

hahahahahahah cheers :)
